- Our Top Betting Sites for the 2025 Ladies Day:
The main event may take place on the concluding Saturday of the Randox Grand National Festival, but for many, Friday is the day to pay a visit to the Merseyside venue. Ladies' Days are popular wherever they take place, but few tracks do it quite like Aintree.
With the massed crowds dressed up to the nines and the liquid refreshments flowing, those in attendance can expect an intoxicating mix of the famed scouse humour and a party atmosphere in the stands. All that, and the racing isn’t too bad either.
Seven races make up the Ladies Day card, including four Grade 1 contests and the spectacular Topham Chase over the Grand National fences. Here, we look at the past ten editions of the meeting and pick out a trends-based bet in each of the seven races on offer.

As we can see, 6-7-year-olds have held the edge in the opener in recent years, with eight of the 10 winners in our sample falling into that bracket. The only seven-year-old amongst the four qualifiers is Caldwell Potter, who hails from the yard of Paul Nicholls, who won this with Saphir Du Rheu in 2015. Arriving on the back of a 6½l success in the Jack Richards Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, his front-running style should be well suited to Aintree, and he can follow up.
Recommended Bet: Caldwell Potter to win @ 7/2 with BetFred.
2:20 William Hill Handicap Hurdle
The yards of Nicky Henderson, Dan Skelton, and Gordon Elliott are the only training establishments to pick up more than one win over the past ten editions. All three trainers are represented in 2025, but Elliott’s Beacon Edge is two years older than any winner in our sample, whilst Henderson’s Impose Toi must shoulder 12st, which is 9lb more than any winner in our sample.
All of this leaves a choice between the Dan Skelton duo of Be Aware and Listentoyourheart. Choosing between the duo isn’t straightforward, but Harry Skelton rode both of his brother's winners in this and opts for Be Aware.
Recommended Bet: Be Aware to win @ 13/2 with BetFred.

As a Grade 1 Novice event held over the 2m½f trip, it isn’t too surprising that this race most often falls to a runner arriving via the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Karbau, Salvator Mundi, and Romeo Coolio all fit the bill in 2025, with the last-named boasting the strongest claims. 11¼l ahead of Salvator Mundi at Cheltenham and 49l in front of Karbau, he looks like the one to beat.
Recommended Bet: Romeo Coolio to win @ 6/5 with BoyleSports.

Whilst there is no dominant race in the above graph, it is notable that seven of the ten winners in our sample appeared at the Cheltenham Festival on their previous outings.
Only Jonbon and Protektorat hit this trend in 2025. 1st and 3rd in the 2024 edition of this, we may be in for a similar result this time.
Recommended Bet: Jonbon to win @ 8/15 with Betfred

With 30 runners set to go to post, the Topham Chase pays out each way on the top four positions. Recent results suggest we should favour those runners who filled a top-four position last time. Of those who fit the bill in 2025, the one we like best at a nice each-way price is the Henry De Bromhead-trained Shantreusse. 3lbs lower than when seventh in the 2024 edition, we like his chances of going a few places better.
Recommended Bet: Shantreusse each way @ 16/1 with Betway

Nicky Henderson leads the way amongst trainers in recent editions of this event, with Lucinda Russell the only other handler to have registered more than one win. Henderson is represented by Califet En Vol and Holloway Queen this year, whilst Russell sends Jupiter Des Mottes and King Of Answers into battle.
Of that quartet, Califet En Vol is the one to get the vote. Successful at Listed level last time out, his runners-up effort to The New Lion at Newbury also reads well, and he can go close under Nico de Boinville.
Recommended Bet: Califet En Vol to win @ 7/2 with BetFred
5:15 Hallgarten And Novum Wines Handicap Hurdle
Not too young but not too old has been the winning recipe in the finale, with eight of the past ten winners falling into the 5-7 age bracket. Eight of the ten winners were also saddled with 11st2lb or less on the day.
Of those who fit both trends in 2025, the standout contender is the Sam Thomas runner, Celtic Dino. Previously tried in Grade 1 company, he drops in class from the Dovecote Hurdle and can go well for Dylan Johnston.
Recommended Bet - Celtic Dino to win @ 7/1 with Betway
